SOFTWARE TO PROTECT CHILDREN ON THE INTERNET

Now in almost every family there is a computer and an Internet connection. The kids use them to do research, to connect and share photos, images, information on various social networks like Facebook and they love watching videos on YouTube and other portals. Moreover, they love to chat on MSN and download via peer to peer programs. So far no problem but a risk of infecting your computer with many viruses, malware, spyware, etc. ... But many parents do not know that, in the WEB, there are prohibited content for children, contained scenes, photos and videos glorifying racism, drugs, violence of all kinds. Not to mention the Web portals where you can easily see entire movies with adult content.

What can do, these parents, to monitor their children and prevent them from visiting "dangerous" sites ? Simple, install software to protect children from navigation, accidental or no, on these sites, on the internet.

Now I describe a series of free programs to protect, efficient and very simple to use. As a computer technician I have been called numerous times to install this free software to prevent children from opening certain sites. NAOMI :

1. User interface easy to use.
2. Minimum configuration by creating a unique password.
3. Automatic blocking of inappropriate content.
4.  Software icon in action, hide.
5. Block peer to peer programs sucu as E-Mule, LimeWire.

The software house does not seem to work more for its development but NAOMI works effectively on operating systems like ME, 2000, XP, Vista. Its strength is in ease of use and ability to hide the icon when the program is running.

PICBLOCK :

1. Quick installation and user-friendly interface.
2. Blur function or blackout of images for adults.
3. Filter function filter on keywords.
4. Detailed report on the activities carried out on the Internet.
5. Access through password administration.

This software is very special as it has, as you read a blur function on pictures with adult content. It has other useful functions to control the activities that our children play in the WEB.

PGSURFER :

1. User-friendly interface and layout well done.
2. Block of particular pages on the Internet.
3. Locks software downloads.
4. Enforcement action against viruses, malware, backdoors, spyware.
5. Function to determine hours to navigate.

This child protection software has unique features such as checking for entering viruses and blocking the download of programs, which may contain viruses. Establish some hours to use internet is also an excellent feature.

K9 WEB PROTECTION :

1. User interface easier to use.
2. Administration password that prevents access to minors.
3. Block adult sites, phishing sites, sites for peer to peer, social networking sites.
4. Control keywords in the search.
5. Choice of block sites that talk about violence, racism, drugs, etc. ...
6. Database continuously updated with more sites to block.

What about K9 Web Protection, it is the best program to protect our children while surfing the Web. That's what I usually install and can block anything. We can also block YouTube. Definitely recommended !

PARENTAL CONTROL BAR :

1. User-friendly interface.
2. Navigation control bar applicable to Firefox and IE.
3. Protection using a password.
4. Many filters to use.
5. Updatable database of sites whose prevent opening.

Well, as you can see from the screenshot above, the software installs a toolbar at the top of the two most common browsers IE and Firefox. By a simple click on the toolbar you can insert the url of "dangerous"site into the list of those which prevent the opening. Easy to use and very effective.

I hope I have done something for all those parents who want to control their children. Do not trust them, as their curiosity leads them to visit and look around on the Web. In some of my professional experiences, I could check, by underage boys, sites with obscene content, who I do not even want to describe. It's awful !

Protect our children on the Internet, installing these valuable softwares to protect them. If necessary, we install two different (if there is no incompatibility).
